(The Intellectualist) Reporter: "What do you have to say to farmers who feel that the deal is benefitting Argentina more than it is them?" Trump: "Look, Argentina is fighting for its life, young lady. You don't know anything about it. You understand what that means? They're fighting for their life. Nothing is benefitting Argentina. They're fighting for their life, you understand what that means? They have no money, they have no anything. They're fighting so hard to survive. If I can help them survive in a free world ... I happen to like the president of Argentina."

Trump suggests US will buy Argentinian beef to bring down prices for American consumers

(AP) President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States could purchase Argentinian beef in an attempt to bring down prices for American consumers. … “We would buy some beef from Argentina,” he told reporters aboard Air Force One during a flight from Florida to Washington. “If we do that, that will bring our beef prices down.” Trump promised earlier this week to address the issue as part of his efforts to keep inflation in check.

How Americans are feeling about their chances on the job market, according to an AP-NORC poll

(AP) Americans are growing increasingly concerned about their ability to find a good job under President Donald Trump, an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll finds, in what is a potential warning sign for Republicans as a promised economic boom has given way to hiring freezes and elevated inflation. High prices for groceries, housing and health care persist as a fear for many households, while rising electricity bills and the cost of gas at the pump are also sources of anxiety, according to the survey.

(Politico) Sen. Rand Paul on Sunday questioned the wisdom and legality of President Donald Trump’s policies toward Venezuela and suspected drug dealers coming from its coast. Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” the Kentucky Republican again raised concerns about the legality of the Trump administration’s strikes on boats that it claims are carrying drug traffickers, as well as the president’s statement that the United States might conduct direct attacks on Venezuela’s territory.

Fired Justice Department lawyer blows the whistle on what he describes as abuses of power at the DOJ

(CBS News) Erez Reuveni, a fired Department of Justice lawyer who's now blowing the whistle, says he witnessed a disregard of due process and for the rule of law at the DOJ. Reuveni previously won commendations for his work and was so effective defending President Trump's first-term immigration policy that he was promoted quickly in Mr. Trump's second term. But he says he was put on leave and then fired after refusing to sign a brief in the mistaken deportation case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Reuveni's whistleblower disclosure helped highlight a growing concern in many courts across the country that the Justice Department is allegedly abusing the limits of the law.

Kristi Noem, DHS Under Fire For Sharing Doctored Video Portraying Black Teens As ICE Threats

(Black Enterprise) After the Department of Homeland Security’s official X account posted a video featuring a group of Black teenagers that many have called out as fake, Kristi Noem, the director of the department, was called out by Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA). The representative demanded that the video be deleted, or Noem would have to answer for the apparent digital manipulation in Congress. According to Raw Story, on Oct. 17, the DHS posted the video, which depicts several young Black men posturing in a park, with a caption that conveys that the group was openly threatening Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. However, it was not long until users on social media found the original video, wherein the threat, issued in jest, was actually aimed at Iran, not ICE.

Reporter at Epoch Times Resigns Over New Pentagon Rules, Says Outlet Was 'Repeating State Narrative'

(Mediaite) Andrew Thornebrooke, a national security reporter at the right-leaning The Epoch Times, has resigned after the outlet agreed to the Pentagon’s new press restrictions, The New York Times reported on Sunday. Thornebrooke, in his resignation letter on Friday, said agreeing to the new rules was a decision to “abdicate our responsibility as journalists in favor of merely repeating state narratives.” His letter also contained the following passage: “I can no longer reconcile my role with the direction the paper has chosen, including its increasing willingness to promote partisan materials, publish demonstrably false information, & manipulate the reporting of its ground staff to shape the worldview of our readers.”
