These photos show China was running modern high speed electric trains as far back as 2011 and according to Reuters the percentage of thier renewable electric sources will grow to 33% of their total grid by 2035.

I can see why they are also beginning to run H2 trains for difficult to electrify areas.

They really are way ahead of us when it comes to moving away from fossil fuels.
