The one near Kankakee, IL is all but dead. The department stores are all closed.
A couplee jewelry stores, an optical store, a few specialty shops & shoe stores and a 16 screen movie theater.
A few winters ago, I wanted to buy Chanel #5 for my wife at Christmas. The website said the JC Penny's was open at that mall. Nope; shuttered.
So, I go on the website again and go about 15 miles up the state highway to the mall in Matteson. That store is open.
Nope again. In fact, triple Nope. No Penny's, the mall is not only closed but there was no mall anymore! It was razed totally.
Used to like that mall. They had a haut couture men's clothing store called Dei Giovanni. Bought a lot of cool clothes & shoes there. But, they tore the whole thing down.
