2. Feed the kids, for goodness sake!

No one in this land of abundance (where people throw away 50% of the food we purchase), I repeat NO ONE should have to go hungry, should have to beg, should have to dumpster dive for food. Children's bellies should not ache from emptiness, seniors should not have to limit themselves to one meal a day, moms should not have to resort to "just a cup of tea for lunch" so that their families can eat.
Are we headed toward the "bad old days" of Dickens' Oliver Twist?
