We Talked To Bernie Sanders and Ilhan Omar About Universal School Meals - More Perfect Union

When @BernieSanders and Ilhan Omar (@rep.ilhanomar2703) introduced a bill to provide free meals to students across the country, Fox News said they were "demanding" kids be fed.

But the bill simply aims to make sure kids don't go hungry.

So we sat down to talk to them about it.

No one in this land of abundance (where people throw away 50% of the food we purchase), I repeat NO ONE should have to go hungry, should have to beg, should have to dumpster dive for food. Children's bellies should not ache from emptiness, seniors should not have to limit themselves to one meal a day, moms should not have to resort to "just a cup of tea for lunch" so that their families can eat.
Are we headed toward the "bad old days" of Dickens' Oliver Twist?
