If I understand correctly, Putin controls everything the Russian people see and hear about the West. Until that spell is broken, Russia peacefully retreats from Ukraine, and Putin is gone, it will be hard to discuss Russian culture separately from it’s violent, inhumane current manifestation.

There has to be space between war and peace in order to reconcile
