3. "Settled law" is an absolutely meaningless phrase, and was when Kavanaugh uttered it . . .

. . . because all law is settled until such time as it is challenged and overturned. Kavanaugh's use of that phrase was a cynical ploy designed to give cover to people like Susan Collins. No one should have been fooled by it!
