13. RE: investigations of the hostage release

I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that an investigation confirmed that Reagan (probably Bush Sr) worked a deal behind the scenes for a hostage release AFTER the 1980 election.

I would need to look it up again to be certain, but I am reasonably sure that's what happened. As former CIA director, Bush had the contacts and influence to pull it off.

ON EDIT: I tried looking it up, but the belief that Reagan and Bush delayed the release for after the election remains officially considered a conspiracy theory as best as I could tell from a quick search. I did find a Mother Jones article that cites a Rockefeller with Chase banking getting involved on behalf of Reagan/Bush. The URL is very long and I can't copy and paste it from my phone. A search would turn it up.
