8. That's the thing, previously rational people have become rabid these days defending Trump's "message"

And there's no reasoning with them, it is like a "cult." And the more ridiculous and irrational Trump's message has become, the more they defend him. And elected leaders have no excuse, but they remain on board against all rationality. I was thinking of Steve Scalise earlier. The man was actually shot, suffered critical injuries, and if that shouldn't have been a "wake up call," I don't know what else that was. But he still refuses to support any gun control and still gets an A+ rating from the NRA! How does that make rational sense??
