17. i was in a western burb and tornado sirens going off

people were checking their phones and seeing a tornado was showing up 30 miles away!

fifteen minutes later the warning was over.

an hour later, siren again.

phones showing another tornado 30 miles away again (but in a different town--30 miles from the first one)

twenty minutes later the warning was over.

what a fucked up afternoon/evening.

radio on drive home was talking about countryside being hit, and various locations in chgo.

i'm trying to listen to the local news on tv now, wondering wth... ???

usually everything turns green (imo) when there is a tornado threat but not today. a bit cloudy on first siren (no green), and sunny on the second siren (no green)
