2. I don't know enough to know how this will translate to YouTube's evolution, but

in the last year or so, the content has been taken over by video's featuring arrows, circles, people looking shocked at something, and hyperbolic language like "the real truth..." The content being thrust upon unsubscribed YouTube users is 99% crap. It's worthless clickbait, IMO.

Yes, it's probably good for their bottom line, because that garbage content usually has millions of views each, so millions of ads show for each, but it's still just garbage. If I see one of these videos, even if it's from a subscribed channel or something on a subject I might find interesting, I shun it like it's a video of a tRump speech. NOT HAPPENING!
