You are mistaking a feature for a flaw.

Yes, in fascist authoritarian systems, the leadership class routinely and flagrantly "violates" the norms they profess to others.

That's actually part of the psychological operating method of cults and other authoritarian systems.

Live a simple life, untroubled by attachments to material possessions, while I greet you from my Rolls....



There is a mind trap among decent people that, at some point, "the hypocrisy" will bring them down.

No, no, no, no, no... it's the hypocrisy which SUSTAINS them.

You think nobody in the DPRK notices that Kim Jong Un is pretty well-fed for having grown up in a famine?

Or that Hitler wasn't German, and certainly wasn't a blond-haired blue-eyed Aryan? Instead he was a short guy with a genital abnormality.

The hypocrisy is itself one of the mechanisms to attack critical thinking and encourage members to simply accept what they are told.
