This has gotten beyond stupid.

Roy Blunt came to my newspaper office ...

He wanted to discuss issues with me .. his chief of staff was there ... the secret service stood outside my office building ... no one in ... while we did an interview ...

I have nothing in common with Roy’s point of view ..

At the end of the interview, he stood next to me for a picture ... probably had his arm on my shoulder ...

One of my readers approached me after we published the article and picture and said ... were you hugging Roy blunt? I said ... no, he was hugging me.

Of course he wanted local publicity ... of course he wanted it to look like I supported him ...

It is not a power play ... it is what they do ... did I feel abused? No. I will say that he knows exactly who I am and when I send him a letter, he knows exactly what I am saying.

Ugggh. I am sick of people acting like everything is always about them. Sometimes it is just not.

I am sick of people lining up to play themselves as victims.

If you cannot understand being a reporter, go make baskets somewhere in a dark corner and you will never ever need to worry about a photo op.

the Missouri Governor (Jay Nixon) hugged me every time he saw me ... I have been hugged by countless men in power ... what in the hell is wrong with people ... are we really supposed to ALWAYS be offended?
