3. Yes, Burnett and Downey want to play both sides.

He told USA Today: “Given all of the false media reports, I feel compelled to clarify a few points," Burnett said in the statement emailed to USA TODAY. "I am not now and have never been a supporter of Donald Trump’s candidacy. I am NOT 'Pro-Trump.' Further, my wife (actress Roma Downey) and I reject the hatred, division and misogyny that has been a very unfortunate part of his campaign.”

And yet, the fact that Donald Trump won the 2016 election is due in very large part to the Donald Trump character that Burnett created in The Apprentice and he has also gone to great lengths to protect anything from the show that could have damaged Trump.

ETA: And to my knowledge they have never spoken against Trump policies, just the offensive packaging. Nor did they support Clinton, Biden or Harris.
