But folks don’t always realize that Medicare supplement plans are only “guaranteed issue” (meaning that insurers cannot discriminate based on preexisting conditions) when you first enroll in Medicare or retire.

So if you try to get back in traditional Medicare later in life, your supplement options will be very limited.
