1. I pay nearly $200 a month for Medicare, and that is after pre paying into it for 40 years.

Has a 20% co pay, plus doesn't offer dental, hearing or vision coverage. Prescription drugs are additional. My spouse pays likewise.

Granted, the younger population doesn't need the level of care that seniors need, but just how much a month would a young family that hasn't been pre paying into it for decades be charged? Until that is known, Medicare for All will be a tough sell to voters.

For the exact reasons you allude to It rubs everybody the wrong way, basically.

The far better angle, which I guarantee would poll at least 25% higher, is fighting for a public option. This whole idea that it's "unfair to private companies if the government competes against them" is fucking garbage, especially when the product is something entirely essential for life itself, like health insurance. It was promulgated by rich GOP/Libertarian assholes to make sure they could build monopolies and ream the public, going back basically centuries

4. Medicare Advantage might seem like a good option for someone relatively healthy in their 60s.

But folks don’t always realize that Medicare supplement plans are only “guaranteed issue” (meaning that insurers cannot discriminate based on preexisting conditions) when you first enroll in Medicare or retire.

So if you try to get back in traditional Medicare later in life, your supplement options will be very limited.

to cover all the things that Medicare doesn't.

Also, I've noticed that the OP never seems to respond to any comments on their posts. Just trying to drive clicks to their videos?
