Having said that, I think a lot of what's driving the bust are the stupid tariffs. The Canadian dollar has a ridiculously low exchange rate right now, meaning Canadians are getting very poor value for their money. They might find Florida familiar without much of a language barrier, but King Pond Scum has made destinations elsewhere look much more attractive.

Tucson, Phoenix, and Las Vegas were big destinations for winter retirees out here, I wonder how they will do this year.

This is all going to get worse before it gets any better because the King must go, taking his tariffs and hate with him, and that will take time.

So if you've ever harbored dreams of retirement in a pit like Florida, wait a couple of years, real estate prices should be firmly down the pan by then and you can pick up a place for a song. The boom cycle will come again, you can sell for an obscene profit and then retire someplace nicer.
