In reply to the discussion: Its time to start arresting ICE agents [View all]Shipwack
(2,879 posts)53. Way past time
This should have been done long ago.
More of a ruckus should have been raised when Trump goons were taking people into unmarked vans during protests during his last term. A lack of outrage then has led to ICE goons now.
Im so damned sick and tired of the leadership refusing to act against criminal and/or unethical practices the right pulls off. Whether its to preserve norms, comity, not to tear the country apart or whatever, there should have been efforts made. Even if the chance of success was slim, things should have been done.

First enforcement step is to have the ID's of those who violated. The ACLU's probably got the evidence.

Seems logical to me that, since CHP know they report to him, they know he'd fire them if they went against this law.

Sure, but Newsom can still order them not to, unless they're 'under cover' and somehow run into masked up ICE.

Sorry - but seems pretty clear that most legal opinion is going in the other direction

Since they're not properly identified they could be arrested with legal justification.
