To be willing to cut off their elderly relations, for anything.

Cutting people off for their political ideology - Something that many people here talk about doing rather often - is just the easiest to point to example.

And boy, it's an example that we can very easily justify. They're Republicans, Trump supporters. They deserve to be cut off. They deserve to be punished. And when they claim that they're suffering? To bad, so sad, they deserve it.

The problem though? The people who are cheering on the stock market crash, and the pain and suffering it will cause Boomers? They've justified it too. They stole our future. We can't afford houses because of them. They ruined the environment. *Insert the unending list of grievances the younger generations have with Boomers here* They deserve to be punished. And when they claim that they're going to be suffering? To bad, so sad, they deserve it.

It doesn't matter if people think their reasons for cutting someone off are justified. What matters is that the person doing the cutting has justified the choice to themselves.
