that he was trying to create a mitigating factor for himself with that lie.

He's failing to take responsibility for his actions just like he failed in his responsibility to care for his dog.

And that he's trying to blame some anonymous other person(s) for his decision to be heartless and cruel proves what an immature and twisted piece of shit he is.

Caught red handed, no doubt that he's guilty and still shirking his responsibility. Trying to win at playing the blame game. He needs to grow up. But he never will.

What he probably will do is much worse. I hope that the judge throws the book at him because this asshole is in training to be a wife beater and a child abuser, too.

I promise you. It always starts with cruelty to animals. He's well on his way down that road.
