The Universities are now in very serious discussions in regards to their Israeli investments.
These are the goals if the protests.
The provocation of anti-semitism AND Islamphobia is being sparked by non-students involving themselves in the protests for their own reasons.
EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO FEEL SAFE. Including Jewish students and Arab students, protesters, faculty and public of all backgrounds, and civilians in Israel and Gaza.
My belief is that it is not the protesting students who are causing any threat, but protest outsiders using this situation to fan flames for their own purposes. I also don't believe it's wise for non-protesting students or the public to put themselves in threats-way by instigating anyone at any time as we have seen in some videos.
On a personal note, I do empathize with the position Jewish people are in as to previous trauma and the resulting "triggers" as I am also a member of a class of people who have been historically, and continue to to be, traumatized and killed for who we are (including by nazis during the Holocaust), in muslim and christian societies, and on the streets of my home country, America.
Perhaps that's why the horrific brutality being committed on Gazans is so vile to me. And yes, I also detest the horrific brutality of Oct.6 and firmly belief hamas must be obliterated.
