Nikki Haley is the Republican best positioned to strike that faux Dubya Bush pose of "G-g-garsh, Mickey, I'm the candidate most likely to heal America's partisan divide" bullshit.

It may not fool you and it sure didn't fool me, but it did manage to fool just barely enough moderate ill-informed voters in 2000 to push GWB over the top (with some help from Rehnquist of course). DeSantis couldn't pull this off, but Nikki Haley is born to play this game.

And strap yourself in, she's a neocon and a union buster. She's the Republicans' best hope, our worst possible opponent, she's a Dick Cheney smart, and just amoral enough to get elected and continue our national drift towards decay and global climate change. Unfortunately she's also the Republican party's best chance of getting rid of Trumpism.
