103. Wrong. The reason you see this carnage is velocity, amount of bullets, and bullet tumbling.

It's not the short range. It's the speed and amount of bullets. An AR-15, even if fired without a bump stock, can fire about 60 rounds a minute. Ammunition magazines that hold up to 100 rounds can be changed in about five seconds. You can't do that with a traditional hunting rifle. That's why today's mass shooters don't use traditional hunting rifles.
