That was 216-8 for McCarthy though, and he’s not running again. It remains to be seen if someone else can get level of support, especially now that the GOP is in chaos.

That said, the answer is probably yes, and they will eventually come together behind someone else. I still think it’s highly unlikely that it will be a nice smooth process that unfolds without any additional drama, or infighting, or behind-the-scenes dealmaking that ends up causing even more problems for them down the road.
