Is DeSantis already screwing up his emergency response?

I'm not hopeful this yahoo is going to develop a soul between now and in the morning. So far he hasn't put a booted foot in his mouth. I hope I'm not alone in thinking he should just step aside and let the experts handle this.

He's not reassessing. He's unable to communicate comfort. He clearly doesn't understand the weather or shifting tides, literally or figuratively.

So what's the over/under? Will Idalia end his weak attempt at trying to look presidential? Or will he provide the leadership and reassurance the citizens of Florida, who will no doubt be in a world of hurt soon, deserve?
