Trump is a pitchman. He is a narcissist and a con man. He wasn't selling anything tangible. He was selling himself and a White Supremacist vision of America that is increasingly popular with a small but very loud, and well funded base.

DeSantis actually tries to implement policy, but guess what? Conservative policy HURTS everyone except the wealthy, because all Conservatism is is a pyramid like structure to society like feudalism, except with White Wealthy Protestant Christian businessmen substituted for hereditary nobles. When you actually try to institute policies designed to control the masses and blatantly shift the wealth and power up to the top, people will eventually notice and not take too kindly to it.

He is not going to win the nomination for the GOP. He will also be terming out at the end of his current term. He may be able to run for Senate, but I have a feeling that his next statewide run will not go as well as his last governor's race.
