(8,164 posts)and I would point out that your age category would only apply to the 1972 election since the 26th Amendment that lowered the age to 18 didn't get ratified until 1971. The statistics that I see for the election of 1972 for your age group reference actually lean Democratic to roughly even. The people older than your reference age group were the bulk of the vote and went for Nixon in both elections. The way older Boomers in their mid to late 20's were more heavily GQP. But their numbers were still dwarfed by those older. Turnout is everything.
I believe you misunderstand my reference about younger people. That point being that if you do not know how bad things were and how hard the fight has been you may well be doomed to repeat history. It won't matter what Gen Z wants if they don't know what to fight against that will keep them from getting what they want.
