. Obviously he had no business being there, but he was retreating when first attacked. The prosecution could never make the case that he provoked the initial attack by the presence of the rifle. The later two shootings came as he was fleeing, but he wasn't fleeing the cops, he was fleeing the crowd.
Rittenhouse is slime and those who hold him up as a hero are even worse slime. I am not sure how estoppel will fit into the trial, but a jury has already decided that the shootings were justified under the doctrine of self defense. Hope they win, but it will be a hard road getting there.
