what percentage of covid cases are actually being reported? [View all]

Seems like everyone just treats it like a cold now, in that they get sick but don't bother testing, or if they do, do it at home and don't report in anywhere.

I ask because I can't help but noticed in the last two weeks Michigan has reported 505 deaths but only 12557 cases. So covid certainly hasn't exploded to a 4% death rate. Even if we assume a 1% death rate, 505 deaths should correspond to ~50000 cases, meaning only about 25% of cases are actually getting reported.

Anyone seeing this out there in your states?
