and for lying on depositions that all had been returned when they hadn't been. If he had turned over the missing documents when first contacted about them, that would have been the end of it. The crime is that he obstructed the return of the documents, lied about them, and continued to hide some of them after claiming to have turned in all of them.
MAGAs will be screaming "unfair" and "political persecution" when he is indicted. They will claim partisanship because Biden is not likely to face any charges over the documents found on his property. So it is important that we distinguish between having the documents and obstructing justice about returning them.
