I'm going to discard uncertainty and be entirely irresponsible. I'm saying that it was an attempted coup, and that Trump tried to overthrow the government of the United States. He USED THE ELECTION HE LOST AS PHONY JUSTIFICATION FOR OVERTHROWNING THE GOVERNMENT. He knew he lost. He knowingly lied to justify the coup. He USED THE ELECTION as an excuse to create conditions for sedition. That's the entire story in a nutshell.
