38. After hurricane Andrew in Florida....

loads of "contractors" from up north came down for "work". Some did, but many were just fly-by-night conmen. They go around housing complexes and take orders. Those who "paid in cash" would be their first priority, and they'd drop a few bundles of shingles off at the "cash" houses and never be seen again. 🙄 They'd move on do other housing complexes and do the same thing.

When they figured they'd stole enough money they'd leave the state and were never heard from again.

"Disaster specialists". They'll invade every area where a natural disaster has struck and prey on people who just want their lives put back together. Always get references and check out any contractor before hiring them.
