I think he's the perfect Governor for California and I'd vote for him ANOTHER 10 elections here...
I'd vote for him for POTUS in 2024 too...
But people don't understand the whole California stigma thing across the country.
There are MANY states where it's recommended that if you're moving there, take your California plates off ASAP because of the anti-California hostility.
California doesn't "play well" in the Rust Belt/Mid-West ranging into the South and Southeast.
I'm not so sure that Newsom would have WI, MI and PA in the bag...
Having said that... he'd be an OUTSTANDING POTUS.

No to Newsom as vp because they are both from CA, which means we loss a ton of ec votes

Sherrod Brown as well, he has proven over and over he can win in a Red Midwest State (OH)
