(400 posts)about what life holds for my 3 granddaughters 11 to 21. I was a sophomore 1966 1967 in California. My husband and I, were talking to one of our daughters about our marriage and family/ government classes. What our driver's ed teacher said about sex, she responded. "oh my god! a teacher would would be fired for saying that in our school district." School is not the same as what we experienced/learned in the 50's and 60's. I taught 2nd grand in a Conservative school district (2000) and had to be careful about anything/everything I said. I want women and men to be free and make their own decisions in the years to come. My father thought everyone who had a tan or dark complexion was a dirty "....". My husband and uncle, both of Sicilian descent were never good enough for him,(but in the long term both had good jobs and good retirement benefits.) All of my grandchildren have dark olive complexion and can get a dark tan without trying. I hope they never have to hear they are dirty"...". Again, I hope everyone votes to protect our rights.
