2. My theory on Omicron -- FWIW.

I am not a virologist, but I am strong in understanding numbers.

S. Africa -- They (the virology folks) figured nearly everyone in S. Africa was either previously infected or vaccinated. Omicron came and went with very little hospitalization increases.

King County, WA (Seattle). Cases spike over double what it was at it's worst last year. Hospitalizations on the way down or flat. %vaxxed is about 84%
Pierce County, WA (Tacoma) Same situation as King County for cases. %vaxxed about 67% Hospitalizations are flat

Now, look at Marion County, Indiana (Indianapolis) Cases have started spiking again, but not yet as bad as last year. But hospitalizations are trending upward sharply now. %vaxxed is about 59%.

There are other studies I've seen (NNadir posted one from Denmark), which supports my theory, which is Omicron is only severely bad for the unvaxxed or never infected folks.
