What % is Omicron v. Delta now? In NC we have doubled the # in hospital in 30 days. [View all]

1,000 to 2,122 people in 30 days. 4,000 is sort of our "holy f*ck we are doomed" number. Meaning try not to get in a car accident.

Those in ICU went from 287 at the end of November to 484 today. I recall our ICU holy shit # is around 1,500, maybe less I do not recall.

Back to where my question was going - is Delta the hospitalization driver or is it Omicron?

About 69% of adults are fully vaccinated in NC. 56% of the total population is vaccinated.

Daily cases hovered around 1,000 at the start of December. We had over 9,000 today.

Edit - if Omicron was dominant would we see the same increase in hospital #'s?
