• Fresh strikes on Lebanon: Israel’s military launched fresh attacks on Tyre this morning and issued a rare evacuation order for the historic southern Lebanese city’s Christian quarter. Both Iran and US President Donald Trump have warned Israel against continuing its offensive in Lebanon.

• US-Israel tensions: The allies have “some differences” to work out, Israel’s ambassador to the US told CNN, after Trump warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that further strikes on Iran could isolate him.

• Trump confident: Early this morning, the president said the US could be sealing a deal with Iran within days, the latest in Trump’s dozens of promises that the end of the months-long war was close.

Trump was caught with his eyes closed in public yet again, this time during Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, where his attendance was decidedly controversial.

After being greeted with rude gestures and critical signs ahead of the game before facing a chorus of deafening boos during the national anthem, the president was recorded later during the game with his eyes closed, appearing to have fallen asleep.

Liberal commentator Joe Gallina first shared the footage on X, where it was soon picked up by Meidas Touch, which described the 79-year-old as taking “a long blink,” referencing an excuse used by the White House in May after the president was caught with his eyes closed in the Oval Office yet again.

“He was blinking, you absolute moron,” the White House-associated X account @RapidResponse47 wrote at the time in response to a Reuters photograph of the president with his eyes shut.

To the displeasure of everyone not named Donald Trump, President Donald Trump is set to become the first sitting U.S. president to attend an NBA Finals game Monday night.

The decision will massively inconvenience everyone else attending Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, who have been told to arrive two hours early as part of the enhanced security measures. The attendees have also been told they now can’t bring bags or purses.

New York Knicks’ faithful planning to attend the watch party outside the stadium also got bad news. Because of Trump, that watch party’s been canceled.

“There will be no watch parties outside of Madison Square Garden for Game 3 only,” the New York Police Department said in a statement. “This was done fully in coordination with the Secret Service because of the presidential visit. We expect watch parties at Madison Square Garden to resume for Game 4.”
