Abound Solar and federal loan will create combined 1200 jobs in Indiana and Colorado

Colorado and Indiana have both received positive jobs news thanks to a $400 million federal loan from the Department of Energy and Abound Solar. The company plans to hire 1,000 workers at a production plant in Indiana and an additional 200 workers in Longmont, Colorado. $100 million of the federal loan will go toward expanding production at the Colorado facility and the rest will mostly go toward opening a new manufacturing facility in Tipton, Indiana. A surprising factoid regarding the production of the solar panels is that the majority are exports. Germany is currently the leading country when it comes to adapting solar power and 90 percent of Abound’s panels will go to that country.
