Hospital president backs SUNY Orange campus on Broadway in Newburgh

The president of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Friday gave a strong endorsement for construction of a SUNY Orange campus in the City of Newburgh and Allan Atzrott said it should be built on the Lower Broadway site. Three proposed locations are being considered by Orange County officials.

Newburgh will be getting a SUNY site, it is just a matter of where to put it.
There are currently three sites
1)By the Hudson River (good location, but costly)
2)Lower Broadway (a ghetto. SUNY would reform the ghetto)
3)The Armory (free, and has the room needed to the campus)

3. Real Shot In The Arm for the Mid Hudson Valley

With SUNY Newburgh and SUNY New Paltz -- this could reinvigorate the Poughkeepsie-Fishkill area (maybe get IBM to "come back")
