Is anyone interested in discussing the content of a specific psychology textbook? |

In particular, we could discuss the question of whether or not the content is science.
If so, then please specify what book you have in mind.
My suggestion is...
Title: Child Psychology: Development in a Changing Society
Authors: Vasta, Ross Miller, Scott A. Ellis, Shari
A number of inexpensive but good condition copies of the 4th edition (published by Wiley in 2004) seem to be available.
I presume that people who are now working as teachers, and who required official academic credit in a course that used that edition to become teachers, haven't been told that they may lose their jobs unless they pass a special test because authorities have decided that the 2004 edition is riddled with errors and pseudoscience and is completely obsolete.
I think that 2004 is probably recent enough and that it's more important to have a consensus on one particular edition of one particular book that most DU members can afford than it is to use the very latest edition of a textbook.

by giving your own (working) definition of science and then your view about connection between current scientific theories (physics?) and psychology?
