There is a BIG Dept of Homeland Security meeting in NYC today.
All employees of the Port of NY (JFK, the Port, the Downtown office) are invited to attend a meeting about the "mission" of DHS. They are bussing people from the various offices to Red Hook (ship terminal building, probably, given the numbers involved) and returning them before the end of the day.

There has never been a meeting like this before (at least not in the last 30 years that I know of). It may just be lunch or it may be something else.

My tin foil is a tingling, given the new rules being written in the last days of this criminal syndicate known as the Bush Administration.... particularly the rules that would tend to militarize and politicize local police departments...

I may get some information at the end of the day that I can add...

1. Your tinfoil ought to be vibrating right off your noggin
We had some unusual gov't law enforcement activity in our area. It turned out to be the lead up to the infamous Postville raid a few months back.

2. Operative word here is "mission"
New rules to make us more insecure and bureaucratic jargon to mask their real intent-which is to become like the Gestapo.

5. (loosening tinfoil)
An "appreciation" meeting...

(lol.. now I just wonder what was done to their computers while they were all (over 1000 people) away from their desks.)
