Women have finally become a majority of veterinarians in the US. AVMA has an excellent article about this. Thought I'd post it here because it only came about because of the Civil Rights Act finally being enforced at universities in their professional curriculum admissions policies.

We owe a debt of gratitude to those few brave women who, from 1903 to 1975, kept their feet jammed in that door so it couldn't be completely shut in our faces. And now we, if we so choose, get to run things.
