If the fetus is female, is it okay to save the woman's life? |
|
This is, of course, a question about the Supreme Court's ruling that a woman can die rather than have a late term abortion.

1. Good question. I was trying to think of ways to counter this ruling. |
|
My idea was to somehow make the abortion laws apply to MEN as well, which would quickly counter this nonsense. If a zygot is considered a human life, that is, if human life really starts at conception, then fiscal responsibilities for the father starts at the moment he has sex. That will include all pre-natal care, all doctor's appointments, everything a woman needs for a safe pregnancy. Men might not like it much, but hey, after the sickening spectacle of seeing all those old men on the Supreme Court deciding what women must do with their bodies, I don't really care.

Wanna get lucky, big boy? Please deposit $250,000 before going further. ;) Might get their attention.

And for $250,000, it had better be REAL good.

7. and, pregnant women should be able to: |
|
write off the fetus as a dependent ride in the car pool lane
They would be subject to: police interrogation for every miscarriage: doctors should be required to report miscarriages. If a man hits a pregnant woman he should be subject to being charged with attempted murder

It reminds me of the Roman law that stated only the eldest daughter needed to be raised by the family, thereby making it legal to practice female infanticide.

5. Was that really the decision, though? |
|
As I recall, it wasn't ruling out all late term abortions -- the ones that "dismember" first are okay, for some reason, not the partial birth?

6. There should be no ruling that does not allow for saving the woman's life. |
|
This one does not allow for saving the woman's life.

the logic of their reasoning, if there was any.

16. They were supporting the abortion wedge issue used to divide the U.S. |
|
citizenry as a tool by politicians and the people who own the pols. The "spin" logic they use? Hmm, good question. Everything those types say all sound and read like white noise to me.

it has to be DEAD before it is "born". Yes, there are other procedures which are done inside the woman (including saline abortion). These are much more dangerous to the woman. This is precisely why a D & X is done over the other procedures.

8. I've always wondered ... if a person injures a woman in a way that causes |
|
her fetus to be killed ... then ...
If a woman becomes pregnant, and has the preg test done by a doctor, then the pregnancy naturally and spontaneously aborts ...
Will the insurance companies pay on their obligation?

17. Only if the fetus was male. If it was female, it wouldn't count anyway. |
|
Just being a wise guy here. I mean, is a fetus with XX chromosomes worth more than a live woman?
