Christmas online poll hijacked 'to oust Jesus'

By Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent

A CHRISTIAN website carrying a Christmas advertising campaign is in danger of being hijacked by non-believers who are voting to “get rid of Jesus”.

A campaign by the Churches’ Advertising Network is promoting the concept of Jesus as a revolutionary, using a poster of a baby melded with the image of Che Guevara.

In a linked survey on the rejesus website, one third of voters said that Jesus must go and half described Jesus as a swear word.

Rachel Farmer, a spokeswoman for the campaign, said: “The vote might be being hijacked by non-believers, but that is the point of it, to allow people to have their say.”

1. Jesus as a swear word:
This was on the UK news the other day. School kids interviewed said they couldn't understand why Mary & Joseph named their baby after a 'rude word'....

2. Stupid.
First, this reminds me of the publicity stunt of SNL in the 80s to have a telephone vote of whether to ban Andy Kaufman from future shows or whether or not to cook Larry the Lobster on air.

Second, it wouldn't surprise me if their constituency votes AGAINST Jesus and blame it on virulent, hateful atheists, secular humanists, Christian-haters, you name it.
