They ran the "choose life" ads about abortion which were paid for by churches. Are they seriously going to try and argue that those ads, about abortion, didn't take "a position on one side of a current controversial issue of public importance?" Or would they try to claim it was "a seculatr message" which was "beneficial to society in general?"
And who the hell are they to decide what's "beneficial to society in general," or that accepting gay people (as well as blacks and others featured in the ad) isn't "beneficial to society?"

4. It's pretty sick that it's unacceptable to speak of accepting everyone. |

The ad has nothing to do with gay marriage. It briefly shows two people who look like they're probably in a same-sex relationship, among all the other people of various ages and races. The church welcomes everybody. And everybody means everybody. Jesus didn't turn anybody away, and neither do we.
Sad to say, but if Jesus appeared on earth today, as he did 2000 years ago, he'd probably be put on death row in Texas.

I am bursting with pride for my denomination - UCC. I chose them because of their inclusion and concern for social issues. I think I'll send CBS a thank you on behalf of the UCC for the free publicity. I'm sure there are one or two americans looking for a church of this caliber! :)

This "censorship" by the networks could be a blessing in disguise. I'm happy to see the UCC finally getting its message out there.

All these bible thumpers keep talking about how Jesus died, but they don't think about WHY he died and WHO killed him.
