Catholics must vote their CONSCIENCE |
|
Since the 2004 election, I have been very angry and upset with my church. I knew that the Catholics were fixated on certain conservative issues (while giving only lip-service to other, more liberal issues), but the level of involvement with the GOP was astonishing and shocking. It caused me to reflect on our religion and its beliefs. If the Church wants America to follow its laws, why not ALL of them, rather than only Abortion and Homosexuality?

I have explored some of the more liberal teachings of the Church. This has been an examination of the betrayal I felt during the election. I have come to the conclusion that to be American means you MAY vote according to your conscience. To be Catholic means you MUST vote according to your conscience.
