2. American Fundamentalists

Fundamentalism is a bane to spirituality. It is the mustache painted on the face of God.

I have never been able to understand how someone who claims to be a follower of Jesus can applaud this 'crusade' the nation has embarked on. Or how they could approve of Terri Schiavo being kept. I find most appaliling thier quest for political ascendancy. Or how they can say that birth control is wrong.

Time and again when Christian's possessed with the idea of orthodoxy have claimed political power they have begun to persecute those who do not have the conscience to agree with them. There is no reason to suspect from this class of fundamentalist claimants to orthodoxy that they will be any other way.
