In other words, don't use water in place of actual windshield washer fluid. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1286423/Windscreen-water-cause-cases-potentially-fatal-Legionnaires-disease.htmlTraces of the legionella bacterium, which can cause the potentially fatal lung infection, were found in one in five cars that did not have the additive. what kinds of microbes are pretty common in the community. During my microbiolgy semester, our class dispersed out into the public with swabs and petrie dishes. We cultured buffet sneeze guards and utensils, door handles, grocery store freezer cases, etc, etc, etc. We were able to culture and detect a few dozen fairly significant human pathogens. EVERY surface we tested had something potentially serious. Public toilet seats were actually about the "cleanest" thing we found (although the faucet handles and doorknob in most toilet facilities were scary).
