Audit: State Hospitals Failed To Monitor Patient Meds
The audit was started after a story about the death of Josh Garcia, a patient at Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo. The 21-year-old died in 2007 after he had more than 11 times the level of Haldol in his blood, records show. The drugs caused constipation, which made his bowels burst, an autopsy found.
