3. I don't want to be a downer but it's way to early to celebrate. |
|
Recommended though for hopefulness.

10. Exactly. They have something that's promising in testing, that's all. |
|
When it comes to breakthroughs, particularly medical breakthroughs, caution is always warranted. Something that seems good could turn out not to work so well, or have very negative side effects. A vaccine against HIV isn't helpful if ten percent of the people who get it end up developing brain cancer a year later. Optimism is great, but it always needs to be tempered with realism and a solid grounding in science. Unfortunately, it gives the cautious and scientific minded a reputation of being downers.

6. I don't think reasonable people who read this are throwing |
|
Away their condoms.
I'm not sure about the reason for your 'concern' - but given that for 90% of participants - there has been no conversion for a YEAR is amazing.
Nothing has been this successful & let's hope for swift expansion & success.

7. Phase 1, 48 week, human trial responses look promising. |
|
"48th week blood tests ran on vaccinated subjects show over 50% of CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes were memory T lymphocytes in the 85% of the patients who kept an immune response at this point of the trials." http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-09/ccsd-msh092711.php:thumbsup:
